The Sanchaya Bintan eye for detail are best demonstrated in the dining and drinking options offered to guests. Recognizing that time is a different kind of commodity when on holiday than while at work, The Sanchaya invites its guests to dine whenever and wherever they like. Eat when they are hungry rather than as social norms dictate.
Nothing reflects the local culture more than what people eat and drink. During breakfast, the traditional “Jamu Gendong” lady will visit the tables offering healthy and refreshing Jamu drinks, an Indonesian traditional natural healthy beverage which uses local spices and root-tubers unique to this area. In the evening, one can also try smoking fine Indonesian tobacco through a long pipe on the Terrace outside The Great House.
Facing a crystal-clear turquoise sea, habitat of playful dolphins and graceful turtles, The Sanchaya is surrounded by rainforests and mangroves rich in exotic animal life such as chattering monkeys and monitor lizards. Guests can also take the opportunity to discover the wildlife on a mangrove discovery tour or go island hopping to Senggarang and Penyengat Islands to see ancient temples, palace ruins and tombs.
